DoorDash, Inc. (DASH): Delivery’s Future in Ads, Drones, and Grocery Alliances
DASH is weaving new products and partnerships into its local-commerce fabric, positioning DoorDash, Inc. for its next wave of growth amid intensifying competition.
Ad Innovations with DoubleDash
Earlier this spring, DoorDash, Inc. unveiled Ad Solutions for DoubleDash, a suite of banner and sponsored-product formats shown after checkout. These ads deliver an 18% higher click-to-conversion rate than standard placements, according to internal data, helping brands capture incremental orders without raising delivery fees or minimums [5]. In plain math, if 100 shoppers click a standard ad, 18 more will convert under the new format—turning passive browsing into real sales. Twenty-one of the top 25 CPG advertisers in the U.S. already leverage these tools, underscoring DASH’s pull among consumer brands [5].
Drone Delivery Takes Off
On May 14, 2025, DoorDash, Inc. and Wing expanded their drone-delivery partnership to Charlotte, North Carolina, marking the first U.S. metro for drone service driven by DoorDash Labs [2]. Eligible customers can now receive everything from sandwiches to snacks by air within minutes—four miles from The Arboretum Shopping Center—with live GPS tracking. This follows successful launches in rural Virginia and Dallas-Fort Worth, and adds a novel option for DashMart offerings like medicine or drinks. The move signals DASH’s bet on robotics to cut delivery times and open new revenue channels [2].
Grocery Expansion through Partnerships
DASH has also doubled down on grocery. On May 22, 2025, Northeast Grocery, Inc. (parent of Market 32, Price Chopper, and Tops Friendly Markets) joined DoorDash’s marketplace, bringing on-demand delivery to nearly 260 stores across six states [1]. Customers can order 150,000 + items—from fresh produce to pantry staples—with typical delivery under an hour. Similarly, Schnuck Markets, Inc., a family-owned grocer with over 100 stores, began accepting SNAP/EBT on DoorDash’s app, plus a discounted one-year DashPass for recipients at $4.99/month [4]. On April 2, 2025, DoorDash, Inc. also piloted a self-delivery integration with Domino’s Pizza, allowing Domino’s drivers to fulfill DoorDash orders and tapping into a $1 billion aggregate opportunity [3]. These alliances broaden DASH’s ecosystem and aim to capture everyday convenience spending.
Fundamentals in Focus
Despite this flurry of activity, DASH remains richly valued. As of early June 2025, DoorDash, Inc. trades at a trailing P/E of 264.58× and a P/S of 7.57×, per recent financial statistics [6]. In simple terms, investors currently pay $265 for each dollar of earnings and $7.57 for each dollar of sales. With revenue north of $7 billion and a market cap near $87 billion, these multiples reflect high expectations for continued user growth and monetization of new offerings.
